Today we’re teaching you a Calm Down method we call ‘Melting into the Bed’.

It’s a relaxation where we calm down our breathing and then we talk to our body, helping it to calm down.

It’s hard to learn something new in hospitals, especially when you’re feeling scared. So, we practiced this at home where Lara felt safe, until Lara became really good at it.

We would coach Lara’s body to calm down, to relax, and this would help her stay calm during tricky medical stuff like port access.
